Welcome to the P&C Web Site 

The Mackellar Girls Campus P&C Association recently conducted a survey of the students and staff with the purpose of identifying the main needs that they saw within the school. We hoped this would inform P&C decision-making regarding the allocation of resources towards the school as well as goals for the parents to further support Mackellar.

At our recent meetings priorities for parent involvement were identified and these are as follows:

1. To create a parent committee to support the Band Program
2. To investigate a project to renovate the Block E toilets
3. To develop a database of parents who would be interested in sharing their skills, knowledge and work/life experience
4. To run a working bee in the Spring to focus on gardens and grounds
5. To use P&C resources to purchase lockers and E beams(like a smart board but cheaper).

The girls actually gave feedback that their parents need to know how they can help at school. The teachers asked for me to mobilise parents to provide support to them in the following ways:

• parents sharing their expertise , knowledge and skills through speaking in classes and careers forums
• coaching or managing a sports team
• helping in uniform shop and /or canteen
• helping out with practical skills to support creative arts
• working on the school environment.

I would like to warmly invite all parents and friends of the school to come along to the monthly meeting and get involved in your daughter's school experience. Without family contributions, personal and financial, Mackellar would not be the school that it is today. Also the Mackellar families play an important role in supporting the schools' direction into the future.

We would love to see you at the next P&C meeting Wednesday 4th August at 7.30pm in the staffroom.
